What a week!

So, the past couple of weeks have been crazy for us. Brian got back from Honduras and was exhausted! The next day, Brian's brother called and Grandma had a heart attack. So for the next week we were in and out of the hospital at shawnee and mercy. But God is good! She ended up having triple bypass and is just doing great to all the doctor's surprise!

So between unpacking, hospitals, 'old timers' basketball games (yes, you heard that right, WE brought back some BHS and OBU players and are taking the court again! pictures to come!), keeping our house clean for showings and repacking for Brian to go to Jr high camp, we have been busy!

So I thought I would share some pictures I've had stores on my iPhone. It really takes pretty good pictures! Most of the pics I've shared so far are from my iphone! Hope you all have a great week! Yea for 4th of July and a 4 day work week!!! Brian wiped out from Honduras.

Brian and his mustache. He thought this was funny, I thought it was disturbing!:)

Happy baby Jace!

Me and my sister, Lauren!

Introducing Louie!

So this pic cracks me up! I was messing with my phone and didn't know it took a picture of me! :) I just had to share!

Hondo, Dog bites, and Miss Teen USA

So, I talked to Brian last night and they are having an amazing and adventurous time! Yesterday they built 2 houses and did some cement work. Brian was really encouraged by all they are doing and he was beat! They had some interesting stories to tell such as one of our sponsors got bitten by a dog! It was tied up and he didn't see it, so when he walked around the corner the dog got him! Luckily, it just tore his jeans and didn't break the skin! They have some pics posted on the youth site so make sure to check out the blog ad pics!

This is a little random, but that is just the way I am. Notice in the last paragraph I used the phrase "such as". This is a phrase that is so hysterical to me and Brian. Sometimes we just throw it into our speaking followed by random thoughts just to make us laugh. Confused? Check out the video and see if you remember the reference! Just wanted to throw it in for a good laugh.

Hope you guys have a great weekend and father's day!

Wal-mart, Fashion, and Shaved heads

So, I know you guys have been there. At Wal-mart, trying to remain patient as the lady with the basket is standing right in front of the brand of toothpaste you need. Then you look down, and to your horror you notice she standing there in her bare feet. Well, that is exactly what happened to me yesterday. Little did I know that the roles would be reversing later on that night. After noticing that I had left a few things I had paid for in the check out line at walmart, we went last night to get them before Brian left for Honduras. Brian was going to run in quickly so we could get home. I tried to explain to Brian what we needed, but you know them boys. I didn't have any shoes so Brian came out gave me his shoes and he went in with his bare feet! This may not be funny to you guys but it cracked me up!

Oh Brian! Wash those feet!

This is what I call my 'already washed my face, brushed my teeth, it' 10:30' look! Notice the big shoes!

Brian and the crew arrived in Hondo safely this afternoon. After a 6 hour school bus ride to the place where they are staying they are beat! I just talked to Brian and they just got some dinner at the mall and are headed back to Baxter for a devo and some rest. Keep praying for them! I took some pics of Brian for a before and after. He decided last night to completely shave his head. It will be interesting to see the after!

The wizard! (inside joke for you oakcrest youth!)

Prayer Requests

We've got a lot of things going on this week and had some prayer requests to share. First, Brian is getting packed up and ready to head to Honduras early in the AM. I am so sad I am not able to go this year! It really is such a life changing experience! There has been some last minute flight changes due to the airport in Honduras closing due to a recent accident. Yesterday was a little crazy trying to figure out where they where going to land and all the messy details. We know that God is in control of this and will take care of everything! Please pray that the group of 40 get there and home safely, that they see grow in their faith, and that they are able to spread God's love! Also, pray for Brian as it can be a stressful week for him.
Also our nephew Jace is getting tubes in his ears this afternoon. Pray that everything goes smoothly.
One last request. Some friends of ours John and Angie Ricketts have recently lost one of their twins. Angie was a little over 20 weeks along. Please pray for comfort for them and their family. I really can't imagine what they are going through. Pray that God watches over the other baby and Angie and that the rest of the pregnancy goes smoothly!

4th Anniversary!

I can't believe that 4 years ago today, after 6 years of dating, Brian and I got married! It really feels like we have been married forever, in a good way. I guess this is the time where I get a little sappy. I sometimes just look at Brian and am in awe at the man he has become. His love for is family, me, and Christ is so evident in everything he does. Even though is has been 4 years, I still feel like we are in our honeymoon stage. He is my best friend. The only one that can make me feel better when I am in one of my crazy stress out moods. He always knows exactly what to say at the right time. We are really just enjoying this stage in our life together before we start our even bigger family. God has blessed our marriage in so many ways. We are so excited to see what he has planned for us in the years to come! In honor of our anniversary, I thought I would share some pics from the day 4 years ago. 06-05-04

Where's a camera cord when you need it!

Well, I guess I am going to just have to cave in and post without pictures. As you all know, we have been showing our house and in one of our mad dashes to tuck everything away and make it look like no one lives at our house, the camera cord got misplaced. I know what you are thinking, "You, Shannon, lose somehing!":) I am sure we will find it under the couch or in the fridge or something!
We have had a busy couple of weeks and things don't look to be getting any better until September! We had our girls sleepover/timothy class camput last weekend and had a great time. I have some great pics from the girls camping night at the Pendergrafts. I'll share later. ( And a big shout out goes to Laura and Susan who really did so much! It was great!!)
Oh and HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAUREN!!!! My little sis turn 24 today! Yay! She is just such a strong and hard working person and she deserves the best day ever! We love you Lauren!
Please keeping praying for our youth team and Brian as they prepare to leave for Honduras in one week!!!!

Check back tonight. I am really going on a mission for the camera cord!!!!!
