Baby stuff!

We have felt so blessed that so many people in our life are so excited for us during this adoption process and have already started the spoiling process!  Their support, prayers, and love has been amazing!  We feel so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends!

My mom and dad bought baby Plumb this cute lamb sound machine! (The first of many gifts!  They can't wait to spoil their first grandchild!)

My dad also picked up this gear.  Isn't it the cutest little jacket!?!

PJ's!  Seriously my favorite.  I actually bought these myself before me even filled out any paperwork!:)

The Brayant's are making such we start him out a Sooner early! On the back it says "ROOKIE" for the name and "1/2" for the number!  Too cute!

Our very first baby gift from Kelley G.!  Look at how small those feet are!

This is from the queen of craft, April!  Love this!!

This is from Brian's sister and brother-in-law.  This is a book about adoption that they recieved the night before they met their girls!  It is so wonderful to have someone so close who had been through adoption!

Sometimes I get all these things out and just imagine that one day soon we will actually be using them!

A weekend full of fun and thinking

What a great weekend at Burnt cabin this weekend with the youth group!  Bunt cabin is my favorite retreat spot!  What a great time to get away from the craziness of life and refocus!  And I seriously love hanging out with these people!  (I must admit I am a little sore from the Gladitor games this morning.  Just a nice reminder that I am getting older!:))

So since we are now on the waiting list, it has really hit me how close we are.  This weeked I had a lot of time to really think about the fact that across the globe, there is a precious woman carriyng our son right now!  I have been thinking about what she must be feeling.  Does she know that she is pregnant?  Is she scared?  Is she hungry?  Does she have anyone? Does she know how much a family in America thinks of her? Does she know Christ?  Please pray with us that God give her food, shelter, strength, peace, comfort, and the knowledge of God's grace and love.

Tonight we decorated pumpkins.  I don't think we will be going professional anytime soon!

The stenscils are much harder to use than they look!

Full House

We had a house full this weekend here at the Plumb's, and it was a blast! We started out Friday night with The Henry's coming up for dinner. Joe is a high school friend of Brian's and he and is wife, Chrissy, are expecting in March! We had a great night full of stories! I'm sure that if their mom's heard some of them, they would be in trouble! It's so amazing that they both are still alive!:)

Saturday, Brian's family came up for the OU game. 8 adults and 6 kids. Needless to say, there wasn't much game watching!

Then everyone decided just to stay the night and come to Oakcrest for church. (Except Brian's mom and dad. I think they didn't think they would get much sleep!)

One of my favorite things is kids in pajamas! Adorable!

On Sunday night, we got some rare adult Bible study time with some friends! What a great weekend full of food family and friends! 21 people, 5 meals, 10 pillows, and one black(ish) eye later, the weekend was over! I was a little tired today and the thought of junk food really makes me nauseous, but we had such a great time! It really reminded me how blessed we are so have such wonderful people in our lives!

WAIT LIST!!!

We got an e-mail yesterday that we are now officially on the wait list!!!

It's kinda hard to show an excited face in a picture, but we tried!:)

So what's next you may be wondering. Well now we wait! Average wait at this point is 8 months for infants under 12 months until referral. The referral is when they notify us that they have a baby for us and send us pictures and all the information that they have about him regarding his family, and medical history. Now I am letting myself get a little more excited about names and nursery! I can't believe it is really happening!! So now, we wait!!

Gettin' in the FALL spirit!

Me: "I'm gonna run to Hobby Lobby and get some fall decorations for the house."

Brian: "We don't need fall decorations! We'll be putting Christmas decorations up in 3 weeks!"

Christmas decorations before October?!??!? Can you tell Brian LOVES Christmas time? :) Needless to say, I won. Our house is decorated for fall...ish. Lucky for me, I love leaves so we didn't have to do much! (See Kelley, I knew all the leaves would pay off!:))

Me being crafty!

The finished product!

I think Brian likes that pumpkin!:)

I know. The frames need pictures! One of my pet peeves! I'm working on it...

Woohoo for fall!

In adoption news, the waiting list is in our site! Yippee!

Oops! My bad....:)

Ok, so remember yesterday how I was so stressed out about the missing fingerprint approval. Well, today I had my wonderful husband give our caseworker a call. Come to find out the approval letter I received in the mail that said I was the petitioner and Brian was the spouse WAS the letter for both of us! I felt like such a dork! :) It is kinda funny that I prayed last night that I would give my worries to God and get things moving, and we had the approval all along! Gotta love His sense of humor! So we are almost there! Waiting list here we come!!!!!!

Where are his fingerprints!!!

Ok, so one of the things I heard over and over again when we started the adoption process is how terrible the wait is. I heard it. I thought I understood it. Was I ever wrong! I feel like all I am doing is waiting, and we are not even on the waiting list yet!!!! Waiting for a home study, waiting for the home study to be finalized, waiting for appointment for fingerprints, waiting for fingerprint approval, waiting, waiting waiting. This week the waiting stress has hit me. We are currently waiting on Brian's fingerprints to be approved. I got my letter in the mail 9 days ago. We had our fingerprints done on the same day one hour apart. Where are they!!! I am so ready to be a mom, I can hardly stand it. My heart is really aching. And, to be honest, it hurts to even talk about the adoption right now. We've been doing this for 6 months and it feels like we are not any closer. It seems like our son is so far away! Please pray for Brian's fingerprint approval to come in and for God to give me patience and a peace about this whole process. We have a lot of waiting to do...
